Sally Mann is one of my favourite photographers. She works with black and white images and has recently moved on to collodion photography; which is simply amazing.
I'd seen some of her images floating around before, but when I looked some more of her work I fell in love. She captures such delicate moments.

I feel absolutely certain that I'm missing the point here. I'm far from shocked/outraged at the subjects used, but I find myself unable to appreciate these much at all.
ReplyDeleteAll of the kids are her children, there's a tender maternal tone, they're all so natural and simple. I don't think something need be elaborate or carefully planned to be deemed brilliant.
ReplyDeleteI think you appreciate the pictures more once they're put into context.
